Summerhall continue its ever-excellent Nothing Ever Happens Here (NEHH) series with the visit of Arcade Fire’s Sarah Neufeld in February.
The violinist has released two albums under her own name – and will be touring with her latest release, The Ridge, to Summerhall on February 3.
As well as playing with Arcade Fire since the band’s early days, Montreal-based Neufeld is a founding member of the acclaimed contemporary instrumental ensemble Bell Orchestre, and most recently has released new music as half of duo with renowned saxophonist Colin Stetson.
Neufeld’s appearance at Summerhall buoys the 2017 line up, with Girl Band on January 26 and support from London’s Goat Girl.
On into Spring 2017 – just announced – Austra round off the Canadian line up, with the Toronto-based band founded by Katie Stelmanis coming to Summerhall as part of their Future Politics tour.
Tropic of Cancer come to Summerhall on March 1 as part of the band’s European tour as Camilla Lobo continues work on her sophomore album.
Nothing Ever Happens Here… is also delighted to partner with Shelter for the launch of The Songbook next weekend, a live music event in Dissection kicking off Friday, December 16 and running all day Saturday 17.
A new collection, Home for the Holidays, is a Christmas songbook compiled to raise funds for Shelter Scotland.
The songbook now has over 30 tracks, including Frightened Rabbit, Euros Childs, Woodpigeon, Sweet Baboo and This Is The Kit.
The launch show at Summerhall includes Withered Hand, Hans Klammer, Kid Canaveral, Book Group and Pictish Trail.
