Fringe Q&A: Any Suggestions, Doctor? The Improvised Doctor Who Parody – Matthew Stallworthy

The Improvised Doctor Who Parody is back! Travel anywhere in time and space with a live radiophonic workshop, on-stage TARDIS and a collection of hilarious improv comedy performers! Travel on an adventure made entirely from your suggestions and be home in time for tea. Allons-y!

AAA caught up with Matthew Stallworthy of the Bound & Gagged Comedy troupe.

This isn’t your first time at the Fringe?

No! I’ve been coming up to the Fringe since 2013, first with my University’s sketch show and improv troupe (where the cast of Any Suggestions Doctor met) and last year I brought up my beloved drag queens vs. comedians lip-sync battle “Lip Sync Lollapalooza” from it’s home in York to Edinburgh for the first time.

Tell us a bit about the show you’re in this year?

Any Suggestions, Doctor is equal parts thrilling and ridiculous, a show where everyone’s favourite time-travelling alien goes on a bonkers adventure based entirely on the audience’s suggestions.

How much work has gone into getting it ready for Edinburgh?

Well we’ve been doing the show for three years already but this year we’ve really up’d our game, we have new props, an extra addition to our live radiophonic workshop, and a real-life TARDIS that will appear on stage.

There’s thousands of shows on – why should Fringe-goers fork out to see yours?

Our show can literally go anywhere in time and space, what other show’s can say that! Also on-stage TARDIS.

Are there any other shows on this year you’d recommend?

Our pals the Silliad but on a great show, improvised Myths and Legends as well as Len Blanco, a fantastic Drag King!

What’s on your hit-list to see?

Adam Riches has me laughing like nobody else so very much looking forward to see him, along with Diane Chorley, big character comedy fan!

What are you planning to do on your days off?

Mostly sleeping, but also making some time for DINOSAUR ADVENTURE GOLF!

Sell your show in no more than ten words….

Hilarious performers, live radiophonic workshop and an on-stage TARDIS

Any Suggestions, Doctor? The Improvised Doctor Who Parody will be at the Pleasance Dome King Dome at 7pm for the month of August. For tickets go to www.edfringe.com
