Twenty-six years after legendary grunge band Nirvana played an intimate gig at an Edinburgh pub, audio from the 1991 performance has surfaced online for the first time. You can listen to it right here.
December 1 marked the 26th anniversary of a gig that has gone down in local folklore, but it was previously thought that no recording of the show existed. However, it has now surfaced on line for the first time.
Kurt Cobain and Dave Grohl played to around 30 people at Edinburgh’s Southern Bar at a fundraising event at the venue alongside local band Joyriders.
The intimate concert raised money for the city’s Sick Kids Hospital.
On the night, Cobain and Grohl performed a five-song set, two-and-a-half of which are captured in the audio recording – Dumb, Polly, and some of Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam.
