Listen: Thom Yorke shares new music from Tarik Barri collaboration

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has previewed atmospheric new music from his collaboration with composer Tarik Barri. You can listen to it here.

The shared clip is part of a new audiovisual installation titled City Rats, which was commissioned by Berlin’s Institute for Sound and Music.

Yorke and Barri’s piece will play from the ISM Hexadome, a 54-speaker and six-screen structure, at the Martin Gropius Bau in Berlin this Saturday (April 21).

Its description explains: “All sounds are visible as objects in 3D space, and the camera’s position determines what we hear and where we hear it, so all harmonies, voices, melodies and rhythms are the result of our flight through space.”

A few weeks ago, Yorke has announced details of a UK and European solo tour for this summer – including a visit to Edinburgh in June.

He will be performing a string of headline shows in a live mix with longtime collaborator Nigel Godrich and visual artist Tarik Barri.

Yorke will be airing material from across his solo albums The Eraser, AMOK and Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes.

UK dates also include shows in London and Manchester.
