This weekend, the iconic Royal Society of Edinburgh on George Street will be transformed into a bustling celebration of the very best that Edinburgh has to offer.
Essential Edinburgh’s new summer event, Life & Style Edinburgh, will showcase over 40 city centre businesses on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July to shine a spotlight on all the technology, fashion, food, drink, travel, beauty and interior design available in Edinburgh.
Attendees will be given the rare opportunity to listen to celebrity speakers, indulge in free beauty treatments from brands including Lush and Bobbi Brown, take part in cooking and cocktail-making workshops, shop and watch fashion shows from a number of top fashion brands including Topshop, Anthropologie, Covet and Oliver Bonas. Fitness-clothing brand lululemon will also be hosting free outdoor yoga sessions in St Andrew’s Square Garden.
Top YouTubers including Gavin Bell and Shaun Vlog will be on hand to host an exclusive ‘vlogging’ workshop, during which they will teach aspiring digital stars how to create and develop their own YouTube channels, whilst Scotland Women’s Rugby Captain Lisa Martin will give a talk entitled #BeTheBestYou.
Commenting on the event, Essential Edinburgh’s Amy Mancini said: “We work with so many amazing city centre businesses across various lifestyle sectors – from fashion retailers to book shops, cocktail bars to luxury travel – so the development of Life & Style Edinburgh is a natural and exciting progression for our event portfolio.
“The event is designed as an experience for visitors of different interests, so if you’re more interested I sport than shopping, there are areas and workshops designed just for you. Or, if you want to learn how to transform your bedroom into that dream space you’ve seen on Instagram, we have people there to show you how.”
