Sampha beats Ed Sheeran and Stormzy to win Mercury Music Prize

South London soul singer-songwriter has won the 2017 Hyundai Mercury Prize, beating Ed Sheeran’s Divide and Stormzy’s Gang Signs & Prayer, as well as nine other shortlisted records.
