Scottish indie veterans Teenage Fanclub are reissuing five of their classic albums on vinyl – and playing them live on tour.
The legendary Scottish group, who Kurt Cobain once dubbed “the best band in the world”, will also be touring the UK, and are set to play three consecutive nights at Glasgow’s ABC in October.
The band will also also play gigs in Manchester, Birmingham and London.
The Fannies’ last studio album, Here, was released in 2016. It followed 2010’s Shadows.
Now, the group have announced they are re-visiting albums they released from 1991-2000.
On August 10, they’ll re-release the Creation Records albums Bandwagonesque, Thirteen, Grand Prix, Songs From Northern Britain and Howdy! They were re-mastered for the first time by the band at the iconic Abbey Road Studios.
Fans will also receive a special 7″ with each record, with each vinyl containing previously-unheard material.
Teenage Fanclub will perform the material they recorded while on Creation Records later this year. playing three gigs in four cities.
The first night will include tracks from between 1991-1993, the second night will feature songs from between 1994-1997, while the third evening will contain material recorded between 1998-2000.
Tickets will go on sale from 9am on Friday (April 27) via the band’s website.
