Travis documentary to debut at Edinburgh International Film Festival

Following the announcement of 17 UK dates this year celebrating their hit album The Man Who, Travis will also debut their documentary Almost Fashionable – A Film About Travis this June at The Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Had you attended any of their shows in Mexico in 2016, you may have been cornered and questioned by English journalist Wyndham Wallace and filmed by a Romanian cameraman Cristian Pirjol, who shot the “Everything at Once” movie.

Travis singer Fran Healy picks up the story: “Wyndham is a very charming man and a very good writer but, mostly the reason he was there covering our trip was because he wasn’t the biggest fan of the band. I thought a documentary from this unusual angle would be a lot more interesting than one from a journalist who was a fan. As it turns out, I was right.”

For the past year and a half, Healy has sat in an editing room with editor Sarah Iben and whittled it down from 50 hours to a concentrated hour-long portrait of the band.

Tickets to see the two public screenings of the film in Edinburgh will be available on the 23 May via and directly from the EIFF site.

Released 19 years ago, The Man Who is one of the most successful British albums of the last 20 years.

It spawned the timeless singles, Writing To Reach You, Driftwood, Turn and possibly the band’s most iconic song, Why Does It Always Rain On Me.

Produced by Nigel Godrich, The Man Who spent 11 weeks at Number 1, selling nearly three million copies. I
