Mariah Carey has announced that she will kick off her first UK tour in more than 10 years in Scotland.
The superstar, who has sold over 220 million albums and is the best-selling female artist of all time, will bring her Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour to The SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Tuesday 15 March. She will then perform dates in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and London before taking the extravaganza to Europe. It will conclude in Johannesburg on Monday 2 May.
Demand for tickets is expected to be particularly high as the shows will mark the first time the singer has toured the UK since she brought her Charmbracelet Tour to the country in 2003.
Announcing the tour, she said: “I’m so excited to be coming to Europe to perform for you all. I promise we’re going to share the most amazing moments together and I have so many surprises in store for you daahhlings! Can’t wait to see you in all your hometown.”
The tour will come after Mariah completes her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in February. Entitled Mariah Carey’s #1’s, the sell-out show opened in May 2015 and features all of her 18 number one singles.
Tickets prices for Carey’s gig at The SSE Hydro are still to be confirmed but will be available from 9am on Friday 18 December from www.livenation.co.uk . There will also be an exclusive pre-sale for members of Mariah’s official online fan community, Honey B on Tuesday, December 15. Fly Legacy members will be given first access to tickets and official VIP packages. For more information, visit www.mariahcarey.com
