Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk was the biggest track of 2015

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ chart-topping single Uptown Funk has been named the biggest-selling track of 2015.

According to the Official Charts Company, the Grammy-nominated song racked up a combined sales and streaming total of 1.76 million.

Despite being officially released back in November 2014, Uptown Funk spent a total of seven weeks at number one, and a staggering 39 weeks in the Top 40.

The track only exited the Top 40 in October, nearly a year after it was first released.

Uptown Funk beat off competition from OMI’s Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn remix), Hozier’s Take Me To Church, Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do and Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again, which took the two, three, four and five spots respectively.

Adele, who spent the last part of 2015 breaking virtually every sales record around, failed to even make the top five, coming in at number six.

Justin Bieber, meanwhile, had no fewer than four entries in the Top 40, two of which (What Do You Mean? and Sorry) hit the Top 10.
