Fear The Walking Dead have a kickass new zombie fighter on the team – and he’s a Hibs-daft Hollywood hunk.
Yes, you guessed it – Scottish actor Dougray Scott has joined the cast of the AMC Walking Dead prequel’s second season, according to reports.
At present, details surrounding the character the Glenrothes-born thesp will be playing are being kept tightly under wraps, but it’s understood that he will be in multiple episodes rather than just making a cameo appearance.
Scott is famous for playing the villain Sean Ambrose in the 2000 movie Mission: Impossible II opposite to Tom Cruise. Since then, he has appeared in many movies like Hitman, Taken 3 and The Vatican Tapes.
According to a report by TV Line, the actor, who previously starred in the TV shows Hemlock Grove and Desperate Housewives, may now play the role of a character called Casey. A casting breakdown of the character reveals that Casey is “a decent man who believes in civility” and “is confident in an unexpected position of authority.”
That said, with no original comic book source material for this series, there’s myriad possibilities.
The 15-episode second season of Fear The Walking Dead will kick off on Sunday, 10 April.
It will also be simulcast in the US and UK. British fans will have to stay up until 2am to watch the premiere on AMC.
Fear The Walking Dead smashed cable TV viewership records with its premiere, earning it the largest series debut in cable history.
