Arctic Monkeys announce UK arena tour

Hot on the heels of the announcement of forthcoming new album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, Arctic Monkeys have announced details of a UK and Ireland tour, taking place in September this year.

Sadly, the Sheffield indie icons haven’t announced any Scottish gigs, but they will play a series of huge arena shows in Manchester, London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Dublin and Newcastle.

Available for pre-order on their official store now, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino is due for release on May 11 and is said to “up the ante in a big way” with it described as “a bold and brilliant album reflecting Turner’s ever more comprehensive creative vision”.

Despite not visiting Scotland on their September tour, Arctic Monkeys are due to headline at the TRNSMT music festival in Glasgow this summer.

The last performed in Scotland at T in the Park in 2014. They will close the festival on Sunday, 1 July.

Arctic Monkeys full UK tour dates are below, and tickets go on sale this Friday (April 13).

September 9/10 – The O2 Arena, London
