Conor Oberst covers Bill Withers’ classic for Amazon series

Bright Eyes mainman Conor Oberst has recorded a cover of Bill Withers’ Lean On Me for the soundtrack of Amazon series Gortimer Gibbon’s Life On Normal Street.

The Omaha musician’s take on the soul classic is one of four new covers that have been specifically recorded for the soundtrack to the show’s second season.

Other tracks include Sharon Van Etten’s cover of Do You Realise? by The Flaming Lips, The Avett Brothers’ take on Louis Armstrong’s What A Wonderful World, and Andrew Bird’s cover of Ben E.King’s Stand By Me.

Gortimer Gibbon’s Life On Normal Street made its debut on Amazon in February 2015, and follows the life of the young titular character as he grows up with his friends on Normal Street, a typical American suburb where magical occurrences often taken place beneath the surface.
