Edinburgh Fringe: Tom Allen review

From a very young age, comedian Tom Allen has always known he was ‘better’ than anyone else. And he is. Better than most other comedians at the Edinburgh Fringe, that is.

His latest show, Tom Allen: Indeed, sees the delightfully posh comedian take on the pitfalls of suburban life including competitive neighbours, awkward house parties and the necessity to learn how to drive.

Allen is chatty, charming and likeable throughout the show, meaning he has the audience on side from the moment he asks them to welcome him to the stage. He’s a strikingly engaging storyteller and almost all his material is both undisputedly relatable and utterly hilarious.

Unlike most other stand-up comedy shows, Indeed makes for comfortable watching as Allen doesn’t feel the need to humiliate members of his audience for cheap laughs.

Tom Allen is set to take the show on a tour of the UK this autumn. Worth seeing? Indeed it is!
