Buskers across Glasgow will be performing some of Fatboy Slim’s best-known tunes this week following news the superstar DJ is to make his first ever performance at The SSE Hydro.
The DJ behind some of the biggest dance tracks of all time, including Praise You and Right Here, Right Now, will play at The SSE Hydro on Friday, 9 December.
His return to Scotland follows the announcement of a date at London’s O2 Arena on December 17, dubbed the Night-Rave before Xmas.
A selection of the city’s finest buskers will celebrate his announcement with performances in central Glasgow starting today – all of whom will also be invited to the show in December.
Jamie Keenan of Lafontaines fame will be the first busker playing, at midday today at the St Enoch Centre.
Brighton-based Fatboy Slim – real name Norman Cook – said: “I started my career busking with Paul Heaton pre the Housemartins, we were called The Stomping Pond Frogs in the early 1980s, so I’m very proud to be a supporter of buskers nationwide. It’s a story come full circle.”
Tickets on sale for the star’s show at The SSE Hydro at 9am on Friday, 17 June at www.gigsinscotland.com or by calling 08444 999 990.
