Fatherson announce 2016 tour – including Edinburgh gig

Fatherson have announced details of their biggest UK tour to date for February – including a stop off at Edinburgh’s Liquid Room on Friday, February 12.
The Scottish three-piece recently released the first single from their second album, due next year. Always (hear it below) was immediately made Huw Stephens Track of the Week on Radio 1 and has received further daytime support from Clara Amfo – it also received plays on Radio X (Shock of the New) and Absolute amongst others.
The band recently completed a tour with Prides, which saw them pick up new fans all over the country.
This is the first new material since their self-released debut album, I am An Island, in early 2014.
Since then, the band have played with the likes of Idlewild, Frightened Rabbit and Twin Atlantic and performed at many festivals including T in the Park and The Great Escape.
“It’s been really, really good and we’ve really enjoyed it,” said drummer Greg Walkinshaw. “This has been our first summer of doing festivals in Europe and it’s been really, really great.
“The crowds have been massively receptive for the limited amount of time we spent on mainland Europe and it’s been really great. The shows have gone well and it’s really nice to play festivals where it doesn’t rain all the time.”
Fatherson’s last record was nominated for the Scottish Album of the Year and went in the Top 10 in the Scottish charts.
