Garbage have announced their only Scottish show of 2019 – at Dunfermline’s Alhambra Theatre on Wednesday, 17 July.
Tickets to see the American-Scottish alt-rock band, fronted by Edinburgh-born singer Shirley Manson, will go on sale Monday, 11 March at 9am.
Last year Garbage visited Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre to celebrate the release the 20th anniversary of their seminal second album Version 2.0.
The band recently digitally released their collaboration with punk legends X Angels – and you can listen to it right here.
Garbage penned the song with John Doe and Exene Cervenka of X, which Garbage describe as a “murder ballad”.
On the single’s b-side is a cover of David Bowie’s Starman. The band performed the song on their recent UK tour, which included a visit to Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre last year.
Garbage have been working on the follow-up to 2016’s Strange Little Birds. After winning NME’s 2018 Icon award, Stockbridge-raised Manson said the band’s new material is heavily influenced by Roxy Music.
“[The new songs] just have that sort of darkness that Roxy Music did so well… I’ve always been obsessed with Roxy Music – it’s all I listen to actually. I don’t know why they’ve always been a favourite,” Manson told NME last June.
