Ahead of her support dates with Neil Young on the UK leg of the Canadian legend’s Rebel Content tour, Laura Marling has announced an intimate gig in Edinburgh.
The elfin folk singer will perform at the Pleasance Theatre on June 3, before heading off to join Young and his band, Promise Of The Real, on a string of dates that includes a stop off at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on June 5.
The Mercury Music Prize-nominated singer last played live in Edinburgh in 2015, when she visited The Caves.
It was 26-year-old’s most intimate gig in these parts since playing Bannerman’s at a fledgling point in her career in 2008.
Ahead of her gig at The Caves, Marling had just dropped her fifth long-player, Short Movie, the follow-up to 2013’s ridiculously good Once I Was An Eagle.
Yet another astounding album from the critics’ darling, Short Movie saw Marling pushing into new territory with the heavier inclusion of electric guitar.
Marling is currently working on her sixth studio album.
Tickets for her gig at the Pleasance Theatre are on general sale now.
Marling also headlines Green Man this summer.
