Pop-rockers Lawson are set to meet fans in Edinburgh next week during an exclusive CD signing session.
The band, who formed in 2009 and have sold more than a million records in the UK alone, will visit the HMV branch on Princes Street on Thursday 24 March to sign copies of their latest single, Money.
Talking about the single, frontman Andy Brown said: “We first had the idea of Money when we were unsigned and touring around in an old van, absolutely skint. We used to sing ‘Where’s the money?!’ after driving 100’s of miles to play to 10 people.
“After the success of the first album, we developed it further and it just turned into this big pop anthem. It’s going to be a big favourite in the live set – when we shot the video, we invited a bunch of our friends and fans down to be in it and they were all signing along after the first listen.”
Lawson’s debut album, Chapman Square, was released in 2012 and spawned five top 10 singles including When She Was Mine and Taking Over Me. They’ve since toured the world extensively and were recently handpicked by Robbie Williams to be the main support act on his solo Australian arena tour. Williams was so impressed with the band that he invited them to perform a rendition of (Take That super-hit) Back for Good with him live onstage every night.
As part of the promotional tour for Money, Lawson will also visit HMV stores in Brighton (Monday 21 March), Leeds (Tuesday 22 March) and Gateshead (Wednesday 23 March) for signings.
Entry to the signings will be on a first come, first served basis on the day. Members of HMV’s loyalty scheme, Pure HMV, can apply for priority entrance via https://purehmv.com/
