On the night Noel Gallagher made his return to Edinburgh Castle, brother Liam pleaded for an Oasis reunion.
Taking to Twitter, Liam mocked his sibling’s apparent decision to play in alcohol-free venues on his current tour before adding: “Let’s get the BIG O back together.”
He tweeted: ”Earth to noel listen up rkid I hear your doing gigs where people can’t drink alcohol now that’s the BeZarist thing you’ve done yet I forgive you now let’s get the BIG O back together and stop f****** about the drinks are on me LG x”.
Fan were unsure if Liam was being serious about the offer to get Oasis back together, but in a second tweet he added: “Cmon”.
Oasis split in 2009 having released seven studio albums, scoring eight No.1 singles, and selling a total of 70 million records worldwide.
When Noel left the band in August 2009, he said: ”It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight.
“People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”
Noel played a hit-packed set with his High Flying Birds at Edinburgh Castle last night, performing a mix of solo material and Oasis hits.
The singer and guitarist kicked off with Fort Knox before commenting on the rare sunshine, saying: “Tell me this, is it weird to be wearing sunglasses in Scotland and shorts?”
