Ahead of the release of new album Triplicate, Bob Dylan has shared his latest cover version – a rendition of Hoagy Carmichael’s Stardust. Listen below.
Dylan recently announced details of a UK arena tour for 2017 – including a visit to Glasgow’s Clyde Auditorium on May 7.
The folk-rock icon will also play gigs in Cardiff, Bournemouth, Nottingham, Liverpool and London.
Triplicate is a three-disc collection of 30 classic songs by American songwriters and, as well as Hoagy Carmichael, the album sees Dylan tackling songs made famous by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Charles Strouse, Lee Adams, Harold Hupfield, Cy Coleman and Carolyn Leigh.
Dylan was awarded this year’s Nobel Prize for Literature, for “having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”
The 75-year-old became the 259th American to have won a Nobel Prize. The award is given to an individual who has produced “in the field of literature the most outstanding work in an ideal direction”.
