Noel Gallagher to host new radio show

Noel Gallagher, as we all know, has a lot to say for himself. And now his famously sharp tongue has been given the stage it deserves with news that he is to present a brand new radio show on Absolute Radio next month.

The series of shows, part of the station’s new Real Music Matters campaign, will run every Saturday throughout February and March, with the motormouthed former Oasis legend presenting a show on February 15 from 9pm-11pm.

Gallagher will be joined by Russell Brand’s comedy partner Matt Morgan.

Other shows will be hosted by Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie, Suede’s Brett Anderson and Jim Kerr of Simple Minds.

Anderson will kick the series off with a show on February 5, while Gillespie will host shows on March 12 and 19. Kerr will lead proceedings on February 13, 20 and 27.

Gallagher is well known for his foul-mouthed rants – so his new radio show should be entertaining.

Recently, the High Flying Birds mainman was asked what he thought about Adele and, as usual, he did not hold back with his opinions.

“If someone wants to know what I think of Adele, I’ll f***ing tell them… I just don’t see what all the fuss is about. I don’t like her music. I think it’s music for f***ing grannies,” he said.

Aside from Adele, Gallagher has ranted about practically every other act in the music business.

Having previously taken pops at the likes of Emeli Sande (again, “f***ing music for grannies”), Paloma Faith (“who’s f****ing decided she’s a star?”) and One Direction (“Cocksuckers, all of them in rehab by the time they’re 30”), this month alone Gallagher has had choice words for Ellie Goulding, Zayn Malik and Radiohead.

“Who gives a s*** what Ellie Goulding is up to?” he said.

As for Malik, he branded the former 1D singer a “f***ing idiot.”
