Pet Shop Boys to visit Edinburgh Playhouse

As Pet Shop Boys get set for four sold-out shows this week at London’s Royal Opera House, the synth-pop superstars have announced they will resume their Super Tour in the UK early next year – which includes a return visit to Edinburgh.

Firm favourites in this neck of the woods, the electro-pop pairing of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe have always gone down a storm on their visits to the Capital.

Indeed, in 2006, atrocious weather conditions led to the cancellation of the dynamic duo’s attempt to headline Edinburgh’s Hogmanay.

The group returned to take care of “unfinished business” in 2013 – and they were simply sensational.

Now, Pet Shop Boys have announced they will hit cities across the UK in February, stopping off at the Edinburgh Playhouse (Feb 22), as well as venues in Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and Bournemouth.

The Super Tour will see Pet Shop Boys perform songs from their acclaimed new album Super, as well as classic PSB hits and album tracks from over the past 30 years.

The production is based on the Royal Opera House shows staged by designer Es Devlin and choreographer Lynne Page.
