West End stars Emma Hatton and Gian Marco Schiaretti will lead the cast of the latest UK tour of Evita, which opens at the Edinburgh Playhouse tonight (8 Feb).
The musical tells the story of Eva Peron, the wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron, and her remarkable journey from humble beginnings through to extraordinary wealth, power and iconic status. The Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical features a host of iconic songs including Don’t Cry For Me Argentina, Another Suitcase in Another Hall and You Must Love Me. The popular film-adaption of the production, which starred Madonna and Antonio Banderas, has won more than 20 awards including the Academy Award for Best Original Song (You Must Love Me) in 1997.
