Music lovers are in for a treat as Electric Fields returns for a third year with a stellar line-up featuring legendary Scottish rockers Primal Scream, genre-defying indie outfit Everything Everything, and corduroy-clad electro-archivists Public Service Broadcasting, among many others.
Scotland’s most exciting new music festival returns to the picturesque 17th Century Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfries & Galloway on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 August, having this year expanded to two days for the first time, offering festival-goers even more incredible music and more time to enjoy the intimate, community atmosphere that made it such a big hit during its first two outings.
As well as the aforementioned acts, the bill also features The Twilight Sad, Erol Alkan, Model Aeroplanes and Joy Orbison, with more names still to be announced.
Headliners Primal Scream continue to be one of the most exciting live bands on the planet, with an incendiary live show and a peerless back catalogue of hits including Loaded, Movin’ On Up, Come Together and Rocks. Bobby Gillespie’s band are due to release their brand new album, Chaosmosis, in March, so come festival-time they’ll no doubt have added another few classics to their armoury.
Speaking about the band’s involvement at this year’s event, co-founder Nick Roberts enthused, “We’re incredibly excited to bring Primal Scream to Electric Field this August. They have created some of the greatest music these islands have produced and are right at the top of their game.
“The rest of the line-up compliments the whole nature of the festival brilliantly and we’re delighted to have this legendary band spearheading it for us. With our new two-day format, we’re able to bring even more incredible acts to the beautiful estate of Drumlanrig Castle, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone come August.”
With the expansion to two days, Electric Fields has added boutique camping and a dedicated family camping area to the weekend’s options. The Real Ale tent, top-notch world cuisine, activities and games for kids, and many more surprises will only add to the overall experience.
A very limited number of Early Bird tickets will be available at £75, on sale at 12 noon on Friday 5th February 2016.
General weekend camping tickets are priced at £85 and will be on sale once Early Bird tickets have sold out.
Concessions for youngsters, with deposit and pay monthly options available if you’d like to split the cost. Children under 5 accompanied by an adult go free.
