Scotland snubbed as Green Day announce UK and European tour

Pop-punk legends Green Day have announced a 15-date UK and European tour for early 2017 – but no Scottish dates.

The Billie Joe Armstrong-fronted band recently revealed that their new album, Revolution Radio, will be released in October and have shared its lead single, Bang Bang.

When discussing the album with Rolling Stone magazine recently, Armstrong said, “The first song where I was like, ‘OK, I’m onto something’ was Bang Bang. And then the first track of the record, Somewhere Now. I started doing demos and I showed them to Mike and Tre. That’s the test. And they absolutely loved it.”

The American Idiot hitmakers will tour Europe during January and February of next year, with UK shows booked for Leeds, Manchester and London. Sadly, as far as Scottish fans are concerned, there no dates north of the border.

Tickets for Green Day’s UK and European tour go on sale this Friday (September 9).
