With the new season of fantasy epic Game Of Thrones just days away, HBO have ramped up the excitement with one final teaser trailer (watch it below).
Ahead of the hugely popular show’s return this weekend, the 30-second snippet doesn’t show a huge amount of new scenes – but it does offer glimpses of Ellaria and two Targaryen knights.
Earlier this week, we learned that the part of Lothar Frey has been recast for Season 6.
According to Watchers on the Wall, He is now being played by Daniel Tuite.
Given that Lothar was the character responsible for stabbing to death the pregnant Talisa Stark, this recasting would suggest he could get his comeuppance.
Game of Thrones Season 6 begins on HBO on Sunday night, being simulcast in the UK on Sky Atlantic at 2am.
UK viewers who don’t want to stay up into the early hours can see a repeat on Monday (April 25).
Series showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss recently promised that S6 is “the best yet” and contains the biggest battle scene to date.
As previously reported on AAA Edinburgh, HBO recently clarified that Jon Snow is definitely dead in the first episode of the show’s sixth season.
Whether or not he stays dead remains to be seen.
The hit fantasy drama returns on April 24, with Sky Atlantic screening the episodes in the UK.
Ahead of the new season premiere, HBO made a brief synopsis available for the first episode.
The synopsis reads: “Jon Snow is dead. Daenerys meets a strong man. Cersei sees her daughter again.”
The episode is titled The Red Woman and fans of the series have speculated that the “strong man” Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys meets could well be Strong Belwasv – a much-loved character from George R.R. Martin’s novels, who has yet to appear on screen.
The Red Woman is penned by showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weisd, who recently promised that season six will be “the best yet” and contains the “biggest battle scene to date”.
