Watch the first trailer for Disney’s Alice Through The Looking Glass

The eagerly-awaited sequel to Disney’s live-action take on Alice In Wonderland is due in Edinburgh cinemas next spring and, following a series of teasers, the first trailer for Alice Through The Looking Glass has been released.

“You’ve been gone too long, Alice. There are matters which might benefit from your attention”, are the eerie first words of trippy trailer, which can be seen below.

The follow-up to 2010’s $1 billion-grossing Alice In Wonderland sees Johnny Depp reprise his role as the Mad Hatter and Mia Wasikowska return as Alice Kingsleigh.

Helena Bonham Carter (the Red Queen), Anne Hathaway (the White Queen) and Matt Lucas (Tweedledee and Tweedledum) are all on board for the second instalment, too.

Director Tim Burton hasn’t returned to the director’s chair but instead serves as a producer on the sequel, which is directed by Flight Of The Conchords’ co-creator James Bobin.

Meanwhile, new additions to the cast include Spectre star Andrew Scott, former Downton Abbey actor Ed Speleers and Sacha Baron Cohen, who plays Time personified.

Alice Through The Looking Glass, which is based on author Lewis Carroll’s own sequel to Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, is due to open in cinemas on May 27, 2016.
