Watch unseen footage of Heath Ledger in trailer for new documentary

A trailer has been released for a new Heath Ledger documentary film, featuring never-before-seen home footage of the late actor as well as interviews with family, close friends and collaborators. Watch it below.

The documentary, scheduled for release at Tribeca film festival in April, comes before an exhibition about Ledger’s life to be held at the Western Australian Museum in October 2017.

In it, the late actor is described as ‘the most alive person’  by his friend, the musician Ben Harper, while Ang Lee, who directed Brokeback Mountain, adds: ‘Even as a supporting actor he will steal the whole show, that is the power of Heath Ledger.’

Ledger – known for his roles in The Dark Knight, Brokeback Mountain and A Knight’s Tale – died in January 2008 aged 28 following an accidental prescription drugs overdose.

I Am Heath Ledger is directed by Derik Murray and is set for a limited theatrical release from May 3.
