Edinburgh is in for a treat this November as two West End leading ladies will join the cast of Tonight…A West End Christmas.
Musical theatre stars Ruthie Henshall (Miss Saigon, Follies, Chicago, Billy Elliot) and (pictured, right) Louise Dearman (Wicked, Evita, Jekyll & Hyde) will jet in for one night only to appear in this glitzy extravaganza. The show will feature classic Broadway tunes as well as West End showstoppers. The audience can also expect a few festive gems in there to kick-start the Christmas celebrations.
Also joining the cast will be former S Club 7 heartthrob Jon Lee. Jon recently took the West End by storm with his appearances in Jersey Boys and Les Miserables.
The legendary Ruthie Henshall is excited about coming back to Edinburgh and took a few minutes to chat to us today.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be returning to Edinburgh. Wonderful songs in a wonderful city,” said the Olivier Award- winning actress and singer, who has become a stalwart of the West End stage since starring in Cats in 1987. “It happens to be one of my favourite places. I cannot wait – it will be a fantastic night. “
Edinburgh-based producer Peter Ferguson has been wowing audiences since 2012 with a stream of variety concerts across Scotland and continues to attract the cream of showbiz to his lavish productions.
“I am delighted to bring to Edinburgh some of the finest stars of London’s West End,” he said. “The city is blessed with such a strong musical theatre audience and it’s always a thrill to get up close and personal with these amazing performers”
