Tranent singer Caitlyn Vanbeck may have bowed out of X Factor last week – but it’s clear her exit from TV’s biggest talent show is only just the beginning for the budding star, who has been confirmed today to open next year’s Midstock Festival.
The 17-year-old primary teaching student did not get through to the Judges’ Houses stage of X Factor after a tense knockout round at Wembley Arena, but afterwards she said it had opened a lot of doors for her – and so it’s proving after Midstock organisers quickly snapped her up for next year’s festival.
“If you have passion for music and fun then Midstock is the place to be,” says Caitlyn, who was thrilled to be asked. “I can’t wait to perform next year.”
Producers were keen to make sure the local star was supported in the midst of her disappointing X Factor exit and despite being in the process of signing bands for next year’s line up, the organisers were keen to invite Caitlyn to perform at the popular Scottish festival.
“We are delighted to have Caitlyn join us for the 2016 show,” said Midstock Festival organisers. “Yes we have big names on the bill but we’re also committed to supporting local, emerging talent when and where we can.
“The chance to have this amazing performer on the show was too good to pass up… and she lives just down the road so she’s not got far to travel for the gig!”
The headliners for Midstock 2016 have yet to be announced but Caitlyn is certain to wow the audience when she shares the stage with the superstars expected for next year’s event.
Midstock festival was a huge success this year after The Fratellis and Fish, among others, played to a crowd of over 5000 people at Dalkeith Country Park, Midlothian.
The complete 2016 line-up is still to be announced – but AAA will bring you all the details first.
